If you are missing Japan this Spring, join Kyoto insider Lee and Mori, his dog, who will teleport you to the Kyoto Gyoen National Garden, at the very centre of Japan's ancient capital.
On this “live” virtual flower hunting experience, Lee and Mori will bring you on a hunt to discover flowers that you can find only in Japan, as well as the Sakura and wildflowers. Starting at the main gate of the Kyoto Imperial Palace (reserved solely for the Emperor of Japan), make your way through the quiet meadows of former aristocratic estates. Get close to the ground to examine wildflowers with a macro lens and learn how some flowers can be used in traditional medicine, and the resources you can use to identify plants yourself.
Grab the kids and join us on this is a great experience where you will get a chance to ask Lee and Mori questions about florals, botanicals, Japan and even Pokemon!

This experience is hosted online, using Zoom. You’ll need a mobile phone, desktop or tablet with Zoom installed. A link to a password-protected chatroom will be sent to you before the experience.

Lee is a Singaporean and former documentary maker who moved to Japan 9 years ago to read Political Science at Waseda University in Tokyo. In university he fell in love with Japan's history, culture, onsen, and ramen. So he decided to stay on and moved to Kyoto, where he is now refurbishing a farmhouse in the mountains to transform it into a tearoom and guest house.
1. What do I need to participate?
You will need a device with a camera and microphone and Zoom installed, as well as a good internet connection.
2. Can more than 1 person participate?
Yes of course, as long as everyone can fit within your screen! You can get anyone present with you to join in, and they are welcomed to ask questions too. We ask that you mute your microphone if you have infants around, so that others won’t be disturbed, but children are welcomed to ask questions.
3. Can this be a private experience?
This is an interactive experience with quizzes and activities that families, schools, and corporate teams will love for birthdays, anniversaries, and team-building sessions. Groups of educators, psychologists, and teams from companies like Amazon, Facebook and Google have forest bathed with Lee. 4. Is this broadcast live from Kyoto?
YES! This is a live online event where your guide will bring you on a virtual tour through Kyoto. In accordance to the Japanese government guidelines as per the state of emergency, your guide will be avoiding closed and crowded places, and close-contact settings. He will not be contacting any other humans during the experience, and the vast amount of space in the Kyoto Gyoen National Garden will allow him to conduct this safely.
5. Will this be recorded? May I record it?
No. The Zoom chat will not be recorded, and participants will not be allowed to record for reasons of copyright and privacy.
6. What if I need to reschedule?
We apologise that this experience, once booked, cannot be rescheduled. However, you may pass the link to someone else, after you have informed us of the change in attendee.
7. What if the event is cancelled?
As this is a Live event where the host will be outdoors, there may be cancellation in case of inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances. In the event if this happens, we will issue a full refund to you.
8. How will I get the Zoom link?
